Earlier this week I had the misfortune to collide with a low flying pheasant!! I am not sure if it survived or not, but it hit the front and then bounced up over the roof, if it did survive - I suspect it may have a slight headache at the very least!!

Anyway to the question - it broke one of the radiator grilles, so I have sent off for a replacement, but I cant quite see how it attaches to the bonnet, does it just clip in place? The broken one has a series of small lugs, (all broken!) that look as if they clip onto the tabs around the grille opening on the bonnet, is this how they fit in place?

    Yes they just clip in.
Rip the old one off and just push the new one in very easy to change.

No need to "rip" the old one off - the pheasant had done all the removal work already!

Just to add Murphy's Law into the equation, I ordered a replacement grille - on ebay, and according to their compatibility chart etc, it was the correct grille. It arrived, and needless to say it was the wrong one!! It turns out that my car was built just after a minor facelift, which fitted a larger grille onto the car, so I had to return the part, and now I am awaiting -- what is hopefully - the correct part, as at the moment the car looks a bit like it has been punched on the nose with the grille missing on one side!!

I am pleased to say the new grille arrived yesterday, and the fitting was just as easy as Alan Gunn said - it does indeed just "clip in" - it does take a firm shove though, but all done in a few minutes! At least the car looks presentable again!
