Went out to lock the cars up and saw this tonight: Dirty barsteward pigeons! So I’ve been out to wash the car, at 10:15pm. The wife gave me a very worried look…..
My friend works in Cardiff and came back to this the other day: He drove home muttering various seagull based threats and then washed it. But only after I’d reminded him that all the time it is on the car it is eating into his lacquer…..
I have to confess I’d have done exactly the same thing. We stayed at a lovely hotel in Southwold a couple of years back and I took my AutoFinesse kit bag with me and was out there cleaning the car in the car park each morning & evening!
True, for context though, I'd only had the Macan six months and I had also only just given it it's first full detail since being with me, so there was extra incentive (OCD) at play!
This is now something of a moot point. Got the Cayenne back only to find it's got a 30cm strip on the drivers door where the lacquer has burnt through! I thought it was just a (annoying) mark, so got the trusty AF Tripple out, but as I was polishing, I found rather than being embossed, it was actually indented. It looks like an acid burn. I had a further look at the door and saw the B pillar has a mark on the black gloss trim which looks suspiciously like bird poo and also won't polish out. I presume it was a bird attack. But back to the point in hand - if I see something like that on the paintwork, it's gone in the space of an hour or so. I assume this had been there days whilst parked up. I'm fuming - the car goes in for some work, doesn't get done, but comes back with damage. I know you can't control birds, but I also don't expect damage to my car either. I've sent Swindon an email asking for them to sort it when it goes in next time. I don't hold out much hope. FFS
I had a mark like that on my Mini, the only option I had was to have it wetsanded and polished. I couldnt watch while it was done, but it came out perfect. As for the B pillar, be careful polishing them as its really easy to go through the finish, you might find it easier to have them wrapped
well l was out washing bird poop off the car at 4.30am this morning l had an early start with work and as l left the house to walk to work l thought WTW. the bonnet was covered in bird poop so back to house for some water soaked kitchen towel to place over the mess and then some wet micro fibre to clean up the rest of the mess my neighbour has a 2007 shit box that has never been washed and the birds don't seem to target that the same as they do my car
We stopped overnight in Llandudno. Woke up the next morning to find the F30 had changed colour from blue to a Diarrhoea White - bloody seagulls! What a foul mess! - It was like removing quick drying cement.
My neighbour likes to feed the birds and often have little surprises dumped on the cars. My best mate is Autoglym insect remover! Spray on, leave to dwell and wipe gently. Not sure about seagull poop! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Another “load” on the car this morning. I’m beginning to think this is personal….. AG bird wipes to the rescue this time, always have a few in the glove box.
Geese are worse here, their sh*t seems to have a high gravel content - you need to be very careful when removing it?
