My X5 has an issue with the seat belts retracting, on the front seats, they are both very slow to retract when you take them off. Can anyone suggest something that might help in some way please?

Obviously replacing the belts would cure this, but I dont like the price that BMW ask for new belts!! The belts themselves are actually in pretty good condition, aside from the slow retraction, which makes this problem all the more annoying!!

    Regards Rich

Give them a light spray with silicone when fully out and retract and extend them a few times. Hopefully that will work.

If you unroll the belt fully and spray that section then you might not have the belt out as far but may still get the benefit

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will give that a try with some silicone spray, that seems a good solution.
