Whilst my wife and I were at Cotswold Hereford to day we had a look at the X1 inside the showroom and we are very impressed with it, so much so that we have decided it will be our next car. I couldn't believe just how much room they have inside for what looks like a reasonable small vehicle and we also think it looks stunning. I was just wondering if anybody was lucky enough to have any experience of the new model.
Sorry, no experience of it, but I do really like the way the X1 looks. Just googled some interior photos and like you, I'm impressed. Good luck with making a choice.
Also liking the look of the X1. Ideally I'd be looking for a 6 cylinder touring or X3 but I probably need to insure the car for my 24 year old daughter to drive and think a nice X1 could be the compromise between a car that she can get insured on and feels comfortable with and something I will drive on longer journeys. Prices are high though - I managed to spec 1 to £42k which is bonkers. I either need to be more selective with model choice or options or find a nearly new / pre reg (which I am sure will start to appear soon)
Well we decided to try in a year as there are no deals or room for price movement at the moment because they are so new and extremely popular. I did manage to sneak a look at the available discounts a couple of weeks ago, 535d's have £5k off at the moment and 330d's are around £4k off. I don't know if they're supposed to show that but I asked outright to see what bargains there are at the moment.
Got to coast to coast and you can get 23% off a highly species 3 series. One or two dealers will match that if you try. Not sure what they (or broad speed) are saying about the X1 but a good place to start if you are interested in pursuing. If I can't get 10% off I will look elsewhere...
Unusually attractive in the right trim and spec! Certainly worthy of further review ........... Though pricey
I also been considering the X1 now they got the new look, i wasn't keen on the old look but will be quiet some time before i am anywhere near looking to change cars, will all really come down to what price my next car is(used that is, could never afford brand new) vs what i can get for mine... earliest i could even look is another 1.5 years as i then paid of the finance on it..... but realistically, unless there is some though out there that is cheap enough and a great bargin, i can't imagine it being for a few years... was originally thinking of changing mine when it was 10 years old and it's coming upto 4 now so got a while unless something major goes wrong and i need to shift the car, which i don't forsee happening atm at least.
