do you ever watch any car cleaning videos on youtube? I have to admit i am a regular watcher of car cleaning videos and the missus is always ribbing me for it, i did watch a couple of videos on applying the ceramic wheel coating as it was somthing that i had never attempted before
I’ve a lot to learn on the use of Da polishing, the term “beading porn” is used loosely on detailing world by the fanatics, I’m trying to get down with the kids allbeit I’m left pretty aged after a day of machine polishing... Perhaps I should leave it with the kids.. Re the videos there’s some very good ones by forensic detailing, I’m sure the guy spends his life in front of the camera and gets paid handsomely.... the things one will watch to avoid prime time tv!
I like watching Jim Whites stuff as he does some interesting videos and has some very nice cars through his doors. I cant link to his youtube as Im at work and its blocked, but his website is http://www.whitedetails.co.uk/
You’ve no idea how boring life on a steal island gets, 12 hour shifts requires a lot of fill in! More than half the dross that’s watched is pointless, you learnt to accept!
I would say the guy from forensic detailing has some other form of income and the youtube channel is a bit of a side line with a small income with youtube it is all about subscribers views and clicks on the links that lead to advertising revenue, hence the if you like the channel please subscribe and I will put a link where to buy in the comments below, but in terms of youtube forensic detailing is still a small channel with 24k subscribers and an about 8k views for most of his vids my daughter is a bit of a youtube fan and one girl that she subscribes to has 1.5 million followers and gets 2 million to 8 million views for her videos and she is now touring and attending events like summer in the city which is a youtube fan convention and i would say she is probably making a good wedge from making youtube videos, another girl that is very popular has 12 million subscribers and every video gets over 1 million hits, hence the reason that i said forensic detailing is small in youtube terms
since buying the Boxster, every kid (under 30) in the extended family is texting or saying the following... #YOLO - (you only live once) SIC - i don't wish to thanks dem rims is tight - i would hope all bolts are torqued up correctly Gwaaan - sorry pass Don! - not sure about that Baad ass - they need more fibre in their diets They were all educated in decent schools, and we insisted on correct pronunciation ,when they were young enough and listened
@pinewood What you need in your life [other than the Porsche and what sounds Ike a very a understanding wife ] is the Urban Dictionary.... It'll help you get 'daan wiv ma peeps, innit, like......' https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gwaan
Thanks for the link, but i still fail to see the relevance of Gwaan to a nice motor car (#proceed#move#advanced#travel#go)? The English language will continue to evolve for sure, but I can't help thinking it's not for the better.
'Twas ever thus, I remember my parents saying much the same. And as for relevance, that's the point...it's...well...irrelevant, innit.
Can I just ask - once you've cleaned and rinsed the engine bay, how do you apply the AG Vinyl and Rubber Care? Do you just spray it or use a microfibre cloth? That is a shining example of how to clean a car.
@Mieke - Definitely no microfibres. I mop up any obvious little trapped puddles with a kitchen towel, then just spray the AG V&R all over the cold wet engine - making sure you really cover everything. At that stage it usually looks like you have a total disaster area - but not to worry - shut the bonnet and go away and do something else for an hour or two. When you next open it up you'll likely find a few small wet patches showing white liquid. I then use a 25mm paintbrush (round ones are best) to spread the excess around a bit - then shut the bonnet for another 30 minutes or so.
